DESCRIPTION:
Clocks- 2 (Two) French mantel: (1) Samuel Marti, Paris, for A. Thelot, figural mantel clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven pendule de Paris movement, white marble case on brass feet with two cast child figures supporting a white marble case between them, white enamel dial with polychrome garlands and Arabic numerals, gilt hands, c1900; (2) France, figural mantel clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven pendule de Paris movement, green onyx base on cast brass feet, supporting three putti holding a green patinated sphere and the mechanism within aloft, applied Roman numerals and gilt snake-form hands, c1915.
CONDITION:
(1) White marble case is very good with only the smallest of chips to the edges. Dial, hands, and glass all very good. The gilding has worn off of the two figures. The movement is signed. (2) Onyx base is very good. Some of the green patination has worn off of the sphere that holds the unsigned movement. The three figures have been touched up with gold paint. Nice hands in the form of a snake. Dimensions are for the clock with white marble base (1). Sold "as is ".
